Pizza, Policy and Energy in Idaho

  • Goody's Deli 905 South 5th Avenue Pocatello, ID, 83201 United States (map)

The public is invited to an evening of conversation, community, and good food at Goody’s Deli on Wednesday, October 22, at 6:00 p.m. The event, titled “Energy in Idaho,” will feature Aaron Menenberg, Idaho Policy Manager for Renewable Northwest, discussing Idaho’s evolving energy landscape and how local policies can shape our energy future.

Attendees will enjoy pizza (while it lasts) and a no-host bar, courtesy of event sponsors: the Portneuf Resource Council, League of Women Voters Pocatello, and the Southeast Idaho Energy and Property Alliance (SEIEPA).

This discussion comes at a critical time as Bannock County Commissioners draft a new Energy Ordinance that will determine how renewable energy projects are sited and permitted in the county. Currently, Bannock County maintains a ban on utility-scale solar, limiting property owners’ ability to lease their land for solar development.

SEIEPA advocates for restoring private property rights and adopting common-sense energy guidelines that include well-planned solar power. Community members are encouraged to get involved.

RSVP by Oct. 21 at the SEIEPA website and learn how to participate in shaping Bannock County’s energy future.

Come for the pizza, stay for the conversation, and help support smart, locally driven clean energy policy in Southeast Idaho.
