About the Speaker:
Donald L. Burnett, Jr. has had a distinguished career as an appellate judge, interim university president, dean of two law schools, state bar president, Army JAG officer, practicing attorney, and law professor. A native of Pocatello, he earned degrees from Harvard University, the University of Chicago, and the University of Virginia, and graduated from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. He retired as a Colonel in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps and received the Legion of Merit. In retirement, he continues to speak widely on ethics, judicial education, and the importance of an independent judiciary in America’s constitutional republic.
