If you love Idaho and America, tell them! Women’s organizations plan public valentine writing event.
Boise Idaho – January 30, 2026. Five state-wide women’s organizations invite members of the public to a free event at the Idaho State Capitol to write valentines to Idaho and America. The February 12 event will run from 11 am to 1 pm MT in the First Floor Rotunda of the Capitol.
Valentines will be collected and sent to Idaho’s congressional delegation, state legislators, and executive officers. Writers may choose to remain anonymous or share their names on the cards.
Co-sponsors of the event include the League of Women Voters of Idaho, the American Association of University Women, United Women in Faith, Mormon Women for Ethical Government, and Idaho Solutions.
“Idaho’s policy makers are accustomed to receiving petitions, emails, phone calls, letters, and meeting requests asking them to do something,” League President Jean Henscheid said. “Our organizations decided these officials need to be reminded what Idahoans value. These valentines will, in turn, remind us that there is much to love about Idaho and America.”
Representatives from co-sponsoring organizations will be on hand to collect valentines and provide information about their groups.
“Members of our organizations are hard at work advocating around similar goals,” Mary Mosley, president of AAUW-Idaho, remarked. “Holding an event like this is our way of bringing positivity to our political process – something we all need.”
Blank valentines and refreshments will be provided.
