Join the League of Women Voters Moscow for a Speaker Series presentation: Climate Change: Global, National, State, and Local Perspectives presented by Leonard Garrison on Wed., March 18 at 12 p.m. in the 1912 Center Arts Workshop room.

Leonard Garrison of the Citizens Climate Lobby of the Palouse will summarize recent developments in climate policy at all levels, including:

  • International agreements including the Paris Climate Agreement, COP 30, the High Seas Treaty, and carbon pricing

  • Global advances in emission reductions, including, renewable energy, electric transportation, reforestation, etc.

  • Trump Administration attacks on "The Climate Change Hoax"

  • Congressional Legislation, including funding for the EPA, DOE, and scientific agencies, permitting reform, Fix Our Forests Act

  • Initiatives in the states, including "balcony" solar

  • Energy affordability

  • The City of Moscow's Sustainable Environment Commission

  • Individual actions

  • Climate resources, including books, websites, news sources, and organizations

Garrison is co-leader of the Citizens Climate Lobby of the Palouse, principal flutist of the Walla Walla Symphony and emeritus professor in the Lionel Hampton School of Music at the University of Idaho, where he was faculty from 2006 through 2014.
