Statewide General Election Voter Guide Now Available

Boise, ID – Detailed information on 200 candidates in Idaho’s county, state, and federal general election races is now available through VOTE411.org, the League of Women Voters of Idaho’s (LWVID) statewide voter guide. This nonpartisan resource also includes comprehensive information on voter registration, early and election-day voting locations, absentee voting, ballot measures and initiatives, and much more.

Ahead of every major election, LWVID offers VOTE411 as a ‘one-stop shop’ for voter information. The guide has simple, accessible tools to help Idahoans navigate the voting process. Candidates use the guide to describe their reasons for running, their policy positions, and their goals if elected. Contact information as well as website and social media addresses are also available for each candidate. Every candidate in Idaho, from county coroner to U.S. Senator, have been invited to respond. A blank space appears for those who have selected not to be included in the guide.

“We encourage voters who find that their candidates are missing to ask them to respond,” Jean Henscheid, LWVID president, said. “No cost, widely available opportunities to directly connect with voters are rare. This is the candidate’s chance to cut through campaign noise and tell voters, in their own words, what matters to them.”

Beyond publishing the guide, League members provide voter registration support and voter education at high schools, on campuses, at community events, at libraries, in group homes for the elderly, and at other locations. League members in Pocatello, Idaho Falls, the Treasure Valley, Moscow, Lewiston, and Coeur d’Alene also host candidate forums, debates, and meet and greets prior to each major election.

“Letting your voice be heard by voting is particularly critical this year,” said Elinor Chehey, LWVID vice president and VOTE411 statewide lead. “Informed voters make better choices. Our voter guide and other resources are available, free of charge, to help create a more informed electorate.”
